Financial Planning

Introduction

I find the largest issue today is finding someone you can trust. It seems wherever your turn someone is offering information and you do not know who to believe. Particularly in the financial services industry there is an ongoing issue with a lack of trust.

Let’s face it, at the end of the day you’re looking for security. You’re looking for someone who listens and understands you; after all it is a huge decision. In fact, I always encouraged my clients to get a second opinion, so they know our fit is right. It’s so important.

You also need to know improving your financial position is not just about products. I do not have a product to sell you. I know what you are thinking, I’ve heard this before. What are you trying to sell me? The most important part of financial advice is the structure, tax minimisation and ultimately your behaviour.

In my 20 years in the financial industry, I find the best way to initially interact with new clients is to use visuals. That’s why, we have a mind mapping session and have an open conversation about your goals. This enables us to visual all your goals so we can break this down into manageable areas. Where you are doing well, you’ll get a big tick and any areas that need improving we’ll look at options for you moving forward. We have developed this system to make the entire range of services we offer incredibly transparent. It’s a fun, simple and educational way which highlights what you need to do.

The first step is catch up, share a drink, so I can walk through how easy it is to get your financial life in order.

Financial Planning Process

Accumulators – Looking to build your wealth

Sometimes, you know you must do something, but you just don’t know where to start. There’s a lot of information out there. Some good, most not. How can we help? Once we learn about your goals and current financial situation, we can help you by developing a comprehensive financial plan which is tailored to you. This could include investment strategies (including Super), tax planning, retirement planning, and risk management. Working together, you can ensure you are making informed decisions about your finances and taking the necessary steps to achieve your financial goals. It might feel like a lot to take in, it’s our job to make this journey as simple as possible.

Pre-Retirees – Your working days are coming to an end

This can be both exciting and scary. Do I have enough money? How long will it last? Preparation for retirement is important because it allows you to maintain your standard of living and support yourselves financially during your golden years when you may no longer be able to work or earn a regular income. By planning and preparing for retirement, you can ensure you have the financial resources to maintain the independence and support yourselves throughout the later years in life. In some cases there can be some great tax saving strategies which we can capitalise on prior to your last working day. It’s our job to provide comfort in knowing you are going to be ok and there are no surprises.

Retirees – The day has come

Finally, I’m sure you have been looking forward to this time for a long time. No more alarm clocks and early mornings, sounds good to me!

So, you’ve accumulated some wealth and prepared for retirement. What next?
We want to work with you to ensure your money lasts in retirement and is invested appropriately so you are not losing sleep at night. Our focus is on structures and tax minimisation whilst protecting your investment in a downward market. Keeping it simple so you can focus on what is important to you in your retirement.

Whilst not a nice topic, we must take some consideration about succession planning. This includes the distribution of your assets after death, including creating a will, setting up trusts, and establishing power of attorney.

The question isn’t at what age I want to retire, it’s at what income.
